Meet Dr. Lydia Kim

I am a double board-certified psychiatrist serving children, adolescents, and adults in Southern California. I graduated summa cum laude from UCLA in Neuroscience, followed by four years of medical school at Loma Linda University. I then completed adult psychiatry residency at University of California, Irvine followed by a two-year sub-specialty fellowship at the University of Washington in child and adolescent psychiatry where I served as chief resident for my final year of training.

Over the years I have cared for patients across the life span with a wide range of mental health conditions in a variety of settings before settling on an outpatient practice. Somewhere along the line the practice of psychiatry appears to have shifted from a focus on restoration of the self to symptom management. My interest lies in establishing and maintaining meaningful and transformative relationships, which are growing ever more precious in our fast-paced digital age.
